From playful curiosity to quiet trust, this shoot was all about meeting each pet where they felt most at home.
We began outside on the family’s small farm, where the open field gave the dogs space to move, explore, and simply be themselves. Liesel, the senior of the group, carried a gentle wisdom—calm, steady, and full of quiet grace. Bodie brought a confident, friendly energy, while little Sweat Pea, the puppy, added just the right amount of joyful chaos with boundless enthusiasm and curiosity.
For the cats, we shifted indoors to a setting that felt familiar and safe. Smalls, the kitten, was full of personality and absolutely knew treats were involved—those little bribes went a long way in capturing alert eyes and playful expressions. Winston, the adult tuxedo cat, took his time warming up to the camera. With a bit of patience and the comfort of being held by his human, his true personality came through in the end, resulting in images that feel calm, connected, and genuine.
Sessions like this are always a good reminder that the best photos come from trust, patience, and letting animals be exactly who they are. Brenda’s pets made this shoot a joy, and I loved capturing a piece of each of their stories—one frame at a time.
