Erica & Dustin

Erica & Dustin
Overlook Park, Lancaster, PA

When the sun begins its gentle descent and the golden hour light sets the trees ablaze with warmth, it’s the perfect moment to pause and capture the kind of connection that tells a story. That’s exactly the story we found with Erica and Dustin, their two lively goldendoodles—Nova (the gold one) and Sophia (the black one)—and a special visit from Erica’s parents all the way from Florida.

Love, Laughter & Leashes

Erica and Dustin came into the shoot with so much ease and genuine joy—no stiff poses, no forced smiles. You can see it in the way Dustin looks at Erica, the way Erica leans into his shoulder, as though the world has folded itself around just the two of them. And then Nova and Sophia add that perfect dash of playfulness: Nova bounding with unabashed enthusiasm, Sophia prancing with her shiny black curls catching the light. It’s the kind of scene that reminds you: life is better when you’re holding hands and letting your dogs lead the way.

A Family Visit That Feels Right at Home

Adding that extra layer of warmth to the session: Erica’s parents flew in from Florida for a visit. There’s something beautifully natural about the way they all interact with each other—dogs included. You can almost hear the soft rustle of autumn in their photos. It wasn’t just a portrait session: it felt like a mini-vacation, a snapshot of family roots.

Why Overlook Park Felt Like The Spot

Choosing Overlook Park in Lancaster was a smart move for so many reasons:

  • Scenic beauty: The park offers sweeping views, mature trees, and golden-hour light that softens everything—skin, fur, love.
  • Comfort for dogs: Wide paths, grassy open spaces, and gentle terrain meant Nova and Sophia could roam a little, stop for treats, and get their own portraits without the session becoming all business.
  • Relaxed atmosphere: The place has a quiet charm—no rush, no heavy crowds—which let us keep the vibe easy, conversational, and fun.

Thanks & Looking Forward

Erica & Dustin — thank you for bringing your authentic selves, your love for each other, and your two big-hearted doodles along for the ride. Erica’s parents — thank you for making yourselves part of the story, for the laughter, the hugs, and the way you joined into the moment.

I’m excited for you all to revisit these images years from now, maybe showing Nova and Sophia with a few more grey hairs and telling the story of this photoshoot.

Here’s to many more walks, adventures, family visits, and daylight like this.
