Lancaster VegFest 2022

Lancaster VegFest is a free annual event celebrating the plant-based lifestyle. In 2022 (the 6th annual Fest), VegFest became an official Lancaster Farm Sanctuary event. Their mission is to provide information about the benefits of a plant-based diet for health and the benefit to animals. Proceeds from the event including donations at entry benefit the rescued animals at Lancaster Farm Sanctuary.

Lancaster VegFest is one of the best local event each year. the crowd grows each year, and I believe 2022 was no exception. Over the course of two days, thousands of guests attended from the local area, as well as guests who travelled hours to enjoy. There were lot of new things to enjoy this year—more details on those below.

The food is one of the biggest draws of the event each year. Guests have the opportunity to purchase food from more than 50 food trucks and food vendors! And, the majority of these food vendors are not local, which makes Lancaster VegFest guests only opportunity to try them. Some food trucks and vendors came from several states away. The cuisines range from barbeque, southern comfort food, Asian fusion, ice cream, baked goods, drinks, and more—all 100% plant-based (vegan).

One of many exciting new additions to this year’s event was the first ever Vegan Beer Garden! Local breweries and distilleries offered craft beer, cocktails, and hard ciders. Yard games like cornhole and picnic tables filled the beer garden area, which was adjacent to the stage with live music and speakers.

Each year Lancaster VegFest offers special VIP tickets to the event. VIP tickets get you early access to the event (no lines for amazing food!) and a custom tote bag filled with goodies. The VIP tickets are definitely worth it, but the event is very enjoyable either way!

The vegan marketplace offers dozens of vendors selling plant-based products, which range from shirts, pins, and stickers to books and pet items. Tarot card readings, henna tattoos, plants, beauty supplies, and other goods are available as well. Additionally, multiple farm animal sanctuaries are present.

This year kids’ activities were available and very popular! Small kids could play with Legos and make small crafts. And, The California Boys were present for elaborate face paintings and over-the-top caricature drawings.

The two days of Lancaster VegFest were full of performers and speakers. Entertainers ranged from DJs and live music to plant-based experts’ lectures. Featured were DJ Shewülf, Monica de Vitry & Jordan Rast, The Funkitorium, Brenda Sanders, the Founder and Executive Director of the Afro-Vegan Society, Gene Baur, Co-Founder of Farm Sanctuary, and more.

Every year Lancaster VegFest features free yoga in the park hosted by West End Yoga.
