After days of rain, the sun finally came out for the 16 graduates of Lancaster Theological Seminary’s Class of 2023. Their day started with a Baccalaureate service in LTS’s Santee Chapel. It was a joyful morning with songs and prayers. Students and faculty were all filled with excitement and ready to celebrate the Commencement Ceremony.

The Commencement Ceremony took place off campus at the Church of the Apostles UCC to allow ample room for the class’s supporters. A large crowd gathered to celebrate this group of 16! Anxious chatter filled the room as the graduates donned their robes and waited for the big moment. Once it was time, the chapel filled up. The ceremony included songs, prayers, and passionate sermons.

At the end of the ceremony, these 16 became the 198th class of Lancaster Theological Seminary. Each student proudly posed with their degree after just being hooded and receiving it. Their smiles were large and genuine.

The chapel emptied and the lobby space filled with buzz as the newly graduated class were greeted with warm hugs and congratulations from friends and family.
