Lung Force Walk 2018
Harrisburg Senators Baseball Field
City Island, Harrisburg, PA
The American Lung Association’s annual Lung Force Walk took place on November 3 at the Harrisburg Senator’s baseball field on City Island. The goal of the walk is clear: to raise awareness and funds to defeat lung cancer and raise the community’s voice for lung health. Lung Force Walks are a time to laugh, learn and imagine a world free of lung disease. The walks promote fitness and helps forge lasting connections between participants. Support saves lives by funding key lung cancer research and providing people who are impacted by lung cancer with invaluable resources, assistance, and information.
Did you know?
- Lung cancer is the #1 cancer killer of women.
- Anyone can get it. If you have lungs, you can get lung cancer, and it’s on the rise in women.
- Because every 5 minutes, a woman in the United States is told that she has lung cancer.
- More than 33 million Americans suffer from asthma, COPD (which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis), and other lung diseases.
Consider joining this wonderful event in the years to come. You can help make a difference for all those affected by lung disease. Raise your voice against lung cancer—and for lung health. Be a force to be reckoned with!
I was honored to not only take some photographs of the event, but to walk in memory of my mother-in-law who was taken from our family too soon by lung cancer. I am grateful to everyone who donated to my team—KJ Knows Best. At the time of writing, our team raised $2,349.00 and raised the second largest amount by a single team.
All together the Harrisburg Lung Force Walk had a fundraising goal of $34,000.00 which it exceeded with donations totaling $35,153.93 as of November 6, 2018!

We had a beautiful and fun day. In addition to the walk, there was ‘Trunk or Treating,’ costume contests for kids and dogs, raffles, happiness, fellowship, laughter, and much more. Thank you to everyone who donated to and supported team KJ Knows Best!
